Both are premium lights that grow any coral. Choose the Radion XR15 for full per-channel spectrum control, detailed app dashboards and even coverage over a cube. Choose the Kessil A360X for its gorgeous natural shimmer, point-source look and dead-simple controls.

Coverage and coral growth
Both lights push more than enough PAR for SPS at sensible heights — neither will hold your corals back. The Radion spreads its multi-LED output very evenly across a cube, which makes it easy to avoid dark corners on a mixed reef. The Kessil, as a point source, throws a beautiful shimmer and a slightly more concentrated footprint that some aquascapes love.
For a single 24" cube, either is excellent. Over a longer tank you will want two units of either, or step up to the Radion XR30 / Kessil bar mounts.
Control: dashboards vs simplicity
This is the real divide. EcoTech's Mobius app gives you per-channel spectrum, schedules, acclimation ramps and detailed control — a dream for tinkerers. Kessil keeps it almost analog: two knobs for color and intensity, with WiFi control optional. If you love dialing things in, Radion. If you want to set it and forget it, Kessil.
Build and reliability are excellent on both, and both hold their value well on the used market — a sign of how trusted they are in the hobby.
Bottom line
Pick the Radion XR15 G6 if you want the most control and the most even coverage for a mixed reef; pick the Kessil A360X if you prize that signature shimmer and simple, knob-based control. You cannot grow a bad reef with either — buy whichever matches how hands-on you like to be.
FAQ
- Will one light cover my tank?
- One XR15 or A360X covers roughly a 24-inch cube. For tanks longer than 24 inches, plan on two units.
- Are these good for SPS corals?
- Yes — both push ample PAR for SPS. Acclimate slowly and use the app/knobs to ramp intensity over a few weeks.
- Do I need the WiFi dongle for the Kessil?
- No — it runs great on its two knobs. The dongle just adds scheduling and app control.
